Hey guys here is my recipe for this look  by special request just thought I’d share with the rest of my fans…

Please note that the colours can be adjusted to suite your skin tone or compliment what you will be wearing

Tip 1: I divide the eye area into 3 sections horizontal; area 1 from lash line to crease, 2nd area the crease and 3rd area the brow bone.

 Vertically also into 3 sections, first 3rd inner corner to where the iris begins, second 3rd area over the iris, and the 3rd end of iris to outer corner.

This information is important for proper colour placement; if you understand where to put what you will be able successfully master the art of your eye shadow application.  A combination of light, medium, and dark colours can be used to change the shape of the eyes and create different levels of dramatic finishes, from very natural finishes to smoky eyes.  The key to getting this right without looking painted is to coordinate your tones and blend them well.  Your makeup should never walk before you.

Tip 2: Before you start your application add extra translucent powder under eyes to catch any excess pigment that may fall.  At the end of your application use a clean brush to whisk it away.

Tip 3: Invest in a few brushes or use disposable applicators, you should have at least 3 brushes one for light, medium and darks colours. Mixing them can change the huge of the colour you are trying to apply, keep facial tissues close by to wipe brushes clean before moving to another colour.

Tip 4: Generally these areas are kept light the inner corner of the eye and under the brow bone, this helps to pop the eyes making them sparkle, dark colour are generally kept to the outer corner close to the lash line and the crease to create depth. Remember when dark and light colours are combined well it creates illusions. Example using a darker colour in the crease creates the illusion of deep set eyes.

Now for the look:
Step1.  I started by lining the eyes, I used 3 shades of pencils – Electric Blue, Navy Blue and Black

     (a) The lightest colour which is an electric blue goes in the inner corner, top n bottom 1st 3rd, inner corner to where the iris starts;

     (b) A navy blue from the outer corner to where the electric blue stops, over the iris top and bottom;

     (c) Next a very black on the water line and between the lower lash line to create depth is applied to the outer corner only

Step 2 I used a M.A.C Velvet Blue (deep navy)I patted this colour up to the crease of the eyes but not all the way 2 the corner cause I wanted the electric blue on the inner corner of the eyes to pop so I kept that area light;

Step 3.  Pearl blue shadow over the iris and smudge bit of the colour center between the lash line at the bottom,

Step 4.  Black to the outer 3rd close to the lash line to give the blue some more depth;

Step 5.  Blend, blend, blend to lose and soften lines using a clean blending brush or Q-tip;

Step 6. My accent colour is a sheer purple shimmer powder, which I added to the inner corner and just above the crease;

Step 7.  The brow bone was highlighted with a flesh tone shadow slightly pearlized, stay away from metallic colours on the brow bone;

Step 8.  Apply strip lashes if desired if not apply 2 – 3 coats of mascara to the lashes top and bottom to finish the look.   If lashes are applied use the mascara to blend your lashes into the strip and do add a coat or 2 to the bottom lashes.

Step 9. The lips were lined with fuchsia pink lip liner by NYX, I covered most of the lips leaving the center free of colour, I applied a sheer pearly gloss beginning at the center and I topped it over with clear lip glass by M.A.C

Step 10. To pull this look together the cheeks were kept soft I applied a soft pink to the apples.  Blend everything well. Check for and clean up mistakes
